BOOM, there it is

If, as is being suggested, North Korea has tested a nuke, things will be getting mighty interesting.
I don't know what to make of it, frankly.
Update, 2350 CDT: Looks increasingly like there was, indeed, a test.

Part sabre rattling, part the current geopolitical scene. Cartel theory suggests that the cartel fights tooth-and-nail to exclude the newcomer, and then flips to accept it once the barrier is crossed.
What makes it a bit more traumatic is that in a new age of preemptive invasions, a threatened state had better have nukes, as nothing else will save it.

Maybe the USA should have invaded North Korea since they have proven, actual weapons of mass destruction. Maybe it's time for a civil war in the USA to drag the nutcases and homosexual pedophiliac's running the country out of office for their beatings. Maybe this is the wrong blog for these comments, maybe not.

If you want to know what happens next then this seems to have some inside scoop:

My guess - nothing of substance. The administration is caught in a trap of its own making, and they have no options.
