Chapell nails the "why you might have nothing to hide, but hide anyway" angle:

Even more troubling is the possibility that the person who’s DNA was inside this woman may very well have had nothing to do with the crime. But rest assured, that won’t matter to the hundreds of police, FBI, press, and other onlookers who will descend upon this town like the proverbial locusts. All those good people who just want to get a glimpse of the person who ‘may’ be the murderer.
